The battle between Luffy and Don Krieg rages on. Don Krieg uses his vast armory against Luffy, but to Krieg’s surprise, Luffy will not be defeated. After a long and arduous battle, Krieg has fallen with Luffy victorious. After the battle Luffy learns that Nami has taken the ship and left for Arlong Park. “Saw-Tooth” Arlong, a mighty fish-man who is the captain of Arlong’s Pirates. Luffy and his crew pursue Nami, her fate unknown.

We finally have the conclusion to Luffy’s biggest fight yet and I must say it was brutal. There is still seemingly nothing that stop this man. Even Don Krieg’s armory and pirates were not enough. Luffy proves that all he needs is willpower and determination to achieve his goals. A fight that should not be missed.

Sanji has finally decided to set sail with Luffy and his crew which means Luffy is one step closer to completing his crew and moving on towards the Grand Line. With an asset like Sanji aboard, Luffy is sure to have far less trouble in his future endeavors. Though I will say that Sanji leaving his life behind at Baratie was tear inducing.

A few new characters were introduced near the end of the volume but to keep from spoilers we will touch on that next time. This volume did leave us on a cliffhanger and with that certain that the. Next volume will be bigger and better.

One Piece volume 8 was great in terms of action, and even more so with story developments. A lot has transpired while Luffy was fighting Don Krieg and now we get to see what events had taken place. Don Krieg was powerful but Arlong is said to be even more powerful with strength close to 10 times the amount of a human. It is safe to say that the next volume will be huge. I highly recommend this volume and the series.
